Ted Strohmeier
Ted joined the Army Reserve in 2016, but that Reserve status came with very little civilian life, as over three years Ted moved from training to training, eventually leading to a special operations deployment to Iraq. The reality of military life became clear when teammates and friends were KIA from a suicide bomb a few months after arriving in country. Ted witnessed how the survivor’s guilt affected his close friends, wishing he could do something more to help. Finding traditional veteran support organizations unapproachable for younger veterans, Ted continued searching for an organization that supported veterans’ mental health and holistic wellbeing. When Chad reached out to Ted about a new project he was founding, Ted knew he found the right organization. Whether struggling to find that post-service identity, or fighting to heal those invisible wounds, Ted hopes to help veterans and their families find their peace in the outdoors, and just maybe have a lot of fun along the way.
